Genesis Three

Chapter 3:

The serpent went to the woman and asked if God has asked them not to eat of the trees in the garden and the woman told her that they could eat from all the trees except for the tree in the middle of the garden because they would die once they eat from it.

The serpent countered that they would not die but instead, their eyes will be open, they will become like gods and have knowledge of both evil and good.

The woman ate from the tree and gave its fruit to her husband too. After eating, their eyes were opened and they realised that they were naked and sow clothes for themselves with fig leaves.

And when God arrived, they hid from him. When he called unto Adam, he told him he was scared because he was naked. God then told him that he would not have known that if he had not eaten from the tree he told him to desist from. Adam said it was the woman that gave him and when God asked the woman, she said it was the serpent that deceived her. Then God cursed the three.

The Curse:
He cursed the serpent first. (vs.14-15) : The snake is cursed among the animals, he shall crawl with his belly. God put enmity between his offsprings and women. He will crush the snake's head and he will strike his heel.
Then he cursed the woman. (vs. 16): God will increase the pain of her childbearing, she shall long for her husband and he shall rule over her.
And finally, the man. (vs. 17-19): God cursed the land because of him. He shall toil in pain to eat from it all the days of his life. The land will yield thorns and thistles for him and he shall return to dust.

Adam named the woman Eve because she was the mother of all living.

God sent the man out so he wouldn't eat from the tree of life too and live forever. God placed at the east of the Garden of Eden cherubims and flaming swords to keep the way of the Garden.
